Revolt Motors has been constantly topping headlines, first after announcing massive benefits after the revisions in the FAME-II subsidy and later after states too declared new EV policies. Now, the brand has announced that it will be phasing out their lower-priced offering, the RV300, and replacing it with an even more affordable model called the RV1.

The Revolt RV1 is likely to be positioned as an alternative to the existing 100-110cc commuters. We expected it to be priced around Rs 80,000, which is on par with the on-road pricing for most of the top-spec 110cc commuter motorcycles. Of course, the RV1 should easily be able to outdo its petrol-powered rivals in terms of running costs.

Currently, the brand relies on some imported components from China to build its products, but is now looking to change that. In fact, the Revolt RV1 will be 100 percent locally manufactured at the Manesar plant. Revolt Motors aims to commence production by January 2022 but hasn’t revealed the launch timeline yet.

Interestingly, Jubilant Foodworks has procured the entire current stock of the Revolt RV300. The electric motorcycle will replace Domino's Pizza’s existing delivery fleet in a phased manner. The pizza chain has run some pilot projects using  the RV300 for its deliveries for quite a while now, and after a successful trial run, has decided to go green with all its delivery vehicles. All these bikes will be modified to be fit for the intended purpose.

The Revolt RV300 is powered by a 2.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack, paired with a 1.5kW hub motor. Unlike the flagship RV400, it doesn’t get any connectivity features. However, with a claimed 180km range in Eco mode, the Revolt RV300 certainly is a great fleet vehicle for delivery-oriented businesses.
