  • The sportier variant of the Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser features a redesigned headlamp and parts of the bodywork.
  • It also offers different ergonomics.
  • Expect Royal Enfield to offer this variant along with the standard version later this year.

A sportier variant of the Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser, the Roadster 650, has been spotted alongside a 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350. Compared to the standard version of the cruiser spotted earlier, this motorcycle packs quite a few changes.

The motorcycle’s bodywork seems to be slightly different and the rear fender is chopped too. It comes with a longer pillion seat, presumably a touring-oriented accessory. The handlebars are slammed and the footpegs are mid-set like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. This combo should ensure a slightly sportier riding stance compared to the cruiser variant. Interestingly, the bike also rolls on a different set of alloy wheels, but it remains to be seen if the front and the rear unit are the same size. The cruiser variant runs on a larger front wheel and a smaller rear.

The rest of the underpinnings seem to be similar to the cruiser model. The powertrain, bodywork as well as the underpinnings are draped in all-black, hinting at the bike’s sporty demeanour. The headlamp cowl is also different from the standard version, reminiscent of the Indian Scout Bobber’s headlamp. While it isn’t visible in the test mule, expect the instrument cluster to come with turn-by-turn navigation like the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Expect the motorcycle to be powered by the same powertrain as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. This 648cc parallel-twin motor makes 47.6PS and 52Nm, linked to a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. Also Read: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 Prices Hiked
