The cruiser is expected to make a splash in the Indian market this year
- It will be the third bike on RE’s 650cc parallel-twin platform.
- The cruiser is likely to be the first RE bike with a USD fork.
- Expect it to be priced around Rs 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield is readying its fleet of new motorcycle launches for 2021, of which the 650cc cruiser is set to be the new flagship motorcycle of the brand. The bike has been spotted on numerous occasions in a dark stealth look. Most recently, it has been snapped running with a few accessories.
The most obvious addition is the windshield, seemingly borrowed from the Meteor 350. It is likely that the 650 cruiser, or the Roadster 650, a Royal Enfield-trademark which we think would be an apt name for the bike, would also arrive in a couple of trims where the top version gets the windshield. Other bits include standard crash protection elements like the engine guard.
Powering this cruiser will be the same 648cc parallel-twin engine from the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Given how soulful the riding experience has been on the Interceptor, we do not think that there might be any need for a change in engine tune for the cruiser.

The double-cradle frame might undergo a small tweak to suit the cruiser format with a completely new subframe seen on the motorcycle. Even suspension duties are going to be handled by a USD fork (a first on a RE motorcyle) and twin preload-adjustable shocks. The twin shocks are going to be simpler, not gas-charged like the ones on the other two 650s.
Royal Enfield hasn’t shared any timeline regarding the launch of the motorcycle but it should take place in late-2021. Since it will be a flagship product, we expect it to be priced at around Rs 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
