Apart from the new 750cc parallel twin cylinder engine, rest of the test mule looks identical to the existing Continental GT.

Earlier we reported that the iconic motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is planning to bring in a 750cc motorcycle that will be powered by a parallel twin engine. The company has reached advanced stage of its development and started testing it for road conditions. The bike has been spotted testing in Britain and it is almost the same Continental GT that is already available in the market with a 535cc engine. However, some changes have been done to fit the bigger engine on the bike, along with dual side exhausts like the Bonneville modern classic range.

This is not the first time that this parallel twin-powered Continental GT has been spied. A noisy picture of the bike was leaked over two months ago, however, the new pictures are sharp and clear. The new engine is also looking like a long stroke-type motor for better torque delivery but it will get OHC configuration and an oil-cooler. We can't ascertain whether it is the final product or not and it could also get some serious updates in the final stage of development.

There are also chances that the company is using the Continental GT's platform just for testing the new engine and it will be fitted in a completely new motorcycle. Also, we can see more than one model using the new engine including the café racer. CEO of Royal Enfield, Siddhartha Lal also told MCN, “Royal Enfield is the most profitable motorcycle company in the world in terms of percentages and we are thinking broader and thinking globally as we want to be the world leader in the middleweight sector.”

The new 750cc Royal Enfield motorcycles will be a big challenge for the Triumph Bonneville range and they are expected to be introduced sometime next year.
