What else can you get for the price of the most affordable Royal Enfield?
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 was launched a while ago, and since the 346cc motor is shared with the Bullet as well, RE has now launched the Bullet 350 BS6. The BS6 update means that fuel-injection has been added and prices have gone up. The new bike will now cost you between Rs 1.22 and 1.28 lakh. So, what else can you get for similar money?
Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6
The NS200 marked a step forward for Bajaj’s Pulsar range, since the manufacturer was able to utilise the know-how and technology gained from its KTM connection. The 199.5cc motor was recently updated to BS6 standards too, also receiving fuel-injection and actually gaining power and torque. With 24.5PS and 18.5Nm on offer, the bike will now cost you Rs 1.25 lakh.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Another popular and capable bike in the 200cc naked segment is the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. It has been updated to BS6 standards, and this being the flagship RTR, it packs in features like a slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, LED lighting, oil-cooling and Bluetooth connectivity. Output stands at 20.5PS and 16.5Nm, and the bike can be yours for Rs 1.25 lakh.
Suzuki Intruder BS6
If you’re looking for a more relaxed and laid-back riding experience, then you should be looking for a cruiser. And the best cruiser in this price range is the Suzuki Intruder BS6. Polarising looks aside, it’s powered by a refined 155cc motor and packs in features like digital-instrumentation, an LED tail-lamp and single-channel ABS. All yours for just Rs 1.20 lakh.
Vespa Elegante 150 BS6
For those of you that want to do away with a motorcycle altogether and are looking for something more convenient, there are some very interesting scooters in this price range. The most stylish of the lot is the Vespa Elegante 150, which also happens to be the most powerful petrol-engined scooter around - 11.5PS and Rs 1.33 lakh in BS6 form.
Bajaj Chetak Premium
What if convenience and environmentalism could all be bundled up into one extremely stylish package? That’s exactly what the retro-chic Bajaj Chetak does. Powered by a 4kW electric motor from Bosch, it’ll manage a top-speed of 70kmph and go 95km on a single charge in Eco mode. The Rs 1.15 lakh price tag even includes a home charger that Bajaj will set up at your place.
