It has design elements similar to the Classic 350 with some additional changes

The upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 has been spotted testing in India. From these images, we can see that it is basically a bigger version of the Royal Enfield Classic 350’s famous laid-back silhouette with nifty changes thrown in.

Take the seating position and the tank design, for example. The tank looks beefy and coherent with the split-seat design. The footpegs are mid set, and the handlebar is also wide and easy to reach, making for an upright riding posture.

Similarities with the Classic 350 also include the fork covers, headlight design, spoked wheels (could get 19-inch and 18-inch ones here, but of course, with fatter tyres), rear fender and the taillight setup and the peashooter exhausts, which should result in a different exhaust note compared to the rest of Royal Enfield’s 650cc range. It appears the headlight is LED, which looks a tad out of place for a retro-styled motorcycle. The bike gets a pair of shock absorbers at the rear and disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

The Classic 650 is expected to get the 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel-twin motor found in the 650 twins with a tuning setup more suitable for the Classic 650’s relaxed touring requirements. For reference, that motor produces 47.45PS and 52.3Nm in the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650

Royal Enfield might launch the Classic 650 early next year with an expected price tag of Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
