After a wait of almost 2 years, the British bike maker Royal Enfield has launched its most advanced and lightest motorcycle Continental GT at Rs. 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike has been launched in the dedicated 4 day event we are attending at Goa. The event has been started from yesterday and we have already rode this amazing Cafe Racer bike.
The bike is a retro cafe racer, which performs like a racing machine in the form of a classic retro motorcycle. The bike gets a long fuel tank with scoops for thigh support and a comfortable seat with rear cowl. Clip-on handle bars and rider foot pegs are placed well to get perfect track riding position. The bike has been assembled on a double cradle chassis made from a light weight alloy to make it the lightest RE bike.
The bike will boast a new 535cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine with a 5-speed gear-box, which makes it most powerful Royal Enfield. Using the fuel injection technology, it churns out 29.1bhp of maximum power and 44Nm of peak torque.
RE Continental GT comes with conventional telescopic forks at the front, while advance Paioli gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The bike features 300mm disc brake at the front, 240mm disc brake at the rear and Pirelli Sport Demon tyres for better grip and control at high speeds.
Rosso Corsa Red paint with the Royal Enfield moniker on the both side and Continental GT moniker on the top of the tank are making its appearance tempting. The company has introduced another Yellow colour of the bike, which will be awailable in India.
