Royal Enfield has officially announced to launch the awaited Continental GT aka Cafe Racer in India. The company is going to launch this special bike in a dedicated 4 day long event held in the beach city Goa. The event will start from 25th November 2013 and continue till 28th.
Royal Enfield Continental GT was re-launched in London previous month, after 6 decades of launching of Continental GT 250. The bike was first launched in 1965 with a 250cc engine, which was called the ‘Britain’s Fastest 250’. However, the new cafe racer comes with a 535cc, single cylinder engine, which churns out a maximum power of 29.1bhp and a peak torque of 44Nm. The bike weighs only 184kg and this is the fastest, lightest and most powerful Royal Enfield motorcycle in production.
RE Continental GT has a racing pattern fuel tank, clip-on handle-bars and racing pattern seat cowls painted in a bright Red colour. The bike features conventional telescopic forks at the front, pair of Paioli gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear, Pirelli Sport Demon tyres (100/90/18 at front and 130/70/18 at rear), 300mm floating Brembo front disc brake and a 240mm rear disc brake. It is expected to be launched at a price tag of Rs. 2.25 lakh.
