Customization of Royal Enfield Continental GT at Bonneville Speed Week

This year Royal Enfield with ace performance tuner Matt Capri, brought two specially modified Continental GT’s for a burn-up on the Bonneville Salt Flats held during the Bonneville Speed Week festival. The Continental GT was an ideal choice for Matt to work his magic, due to the simplicity and customization potential of the machine's setup. The two bikes went through major modifications to cam shafts, cylinder heads, throttle bodies, pistons and exhaust systems. Matt Capri’s souped-up Royal Enfield Continental GT, ridden by Nadine de Freitas, finally hit the salt flats of Bonneville on the afternoon of August 28. The result was an average timing of 97.69MPH (unofficial)* set by the Continental GT in the 500MPPS (Modified Pushrod Partially Streamlined) category! The timing achieved by the Continental GT at the salt flats reinforces GT’s proposition of being a great platform for customization for avid cafe racing enthusiasts. The Bonneville Speed Week, an automobile festival held in the month of August every year, celebrates automotive and engineering brilliance with some of the most diverse automobiles on two and four wheels on display from all over the world. This gathering also hosts and exhibits automobiles specially modified and tuned to set speed records at the unique salt flats at Bonneville.
