Could this be Royal Enfield’s answer to the Jawa 42 Bobber?
Royal Enfield has been working on a bobber based on the Classic 350, for a while now, and in the past we had seen many spy shots of this upcoming bike. In this article, we will be going over what we can expect from this bobber offering.
The upcoming bike could likely be called Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350, and not the Shotgun 350 as we have been expecting. Royal Enfield had recently trademarked a few names including Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350. We think this new name could be what the brand is going to use for the upcoming bobber.
Now, we have seen many spy shots of the bike and have a good idea of what we can expect from it. Starting off with the design, the bike looks very similar to the Royal Enfield Classic 350, with the same chrome headlight ring and ‘tiger eye’ pilot lamps. The tank is the same teardrop shaped unit, and the bike overall has the same profile as the Classic.
But what gives it its unique look is the use of a ‘mini ape-hanger’ handlebar, different seat setup and slightly more forward set footpegs. Although we have seen a pillion seat in the spy shots, we expect it to be a detachable unit, similar to what is already used on the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. The combination of all these design elements makes the bike look like a proper bobber and also stand out when compared to the Classic 350 and the Bullet 350.
The Goan Classic 350 will be powered by the same 349cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine which outputs 20.2PS and 27Nm. It’s also likely to share the same underpinnings as the Classic 350, with the suspension setup consisting of a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers.
The bike is likely to come with 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with whitewall tyres. Braking setup could be the same as the Classic 350: a 300mm front and 270mm rear disc, with dual channel ABS.
We expect the bike to feature the same analogue instrument console with a digital inset, as seen on the Classic 350 and Bullet 350. For turn-by-turn navigation, customers are likely to get the Royal Enfield tripper navigation module as an optional accessory.
The Goan Classic 350 will likely be launched during Motoverse 2024, which will take place on 22-24, November 2024. The bike could come at a price that is around Rs 2.2 lakh ex-showroom. It will go up against other bobber offerings in the market such as the Jawa Perak and Jawa 42 Bobber.
