From selling 325 units in the first month to 629 units in December 2018 to finally selling 1,069 last month, sales have doubled in almost no time
Royal Enfield took its sweet time to launch the Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650. However, considering the finished product, it’s not an exaggeration to say that they were worth the wait. And it shows in the way audiences have responded to the product. According to reports, the Chennai-based manufacturer has sold over 1,000 units of the 650 Twins in the month of January alone.

Launched in November 2018, both the motorcycles have seen a steady growth in sales. From selling 325 units in the first month to 629 units in December 2018 to finally selling 1,069 last month, sales have doubled in almost no time. This can be attributed to Royal Enfield’s strategy of aggressively pricing the two motorcycles, at Rs 2.50 lakh for the Interceptor 650 & Rs 2.65 lakh for the Continental GT 650, making them the most affordable twin-cylinder motorcycles you can buy in India right now.

Going ahead, we can only expect this number to grow higher as their popularity increases.
Both the Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 shares almost the same mechanicals, underpinnings and features, but what separates them is their design and purpose. While the Interceptor 650 is a Californian urban cruiser designed for long comfy rides, the Continental GT 650 sports cafe racer looks and is built more for weekend corner carving.
