RE’s upcoming roadster’s arrival is farther than we expected
[UPDATE: Royal Enfield has launched the Hunter 350. Full details in our launch story]
According to a new report, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be breaking cover in the second half of July 2022, later than what we had estimated.
Pre-production prototype images of the RE Hunter 350 have been revealed, giving a clearer picture of what the bike will look like. The motorcycle gets a modern retro roadster styling that slightly resembles the Triumph Street Twin with a single piece seat and a tear drop shaped fuel tank. Complimenting the retro appeal are RE’s signature rounded headlight, taillight, turn indicators and rear view mirrors. Apart from this, the bike is likely to tip the scales at 190-195kg, making it lighter than its 350cc siblings.

The motorcycle will be powered by the same 349cc, single-cylinder engine as the Meteor 350 and Classic 350. It is also expected to produce the same 20.4PS and 27Nm output figures as its siblings. We expect it to get the Meteor 350’s state of tune, which is slightly sportier than the Classic 350.
The reports also mention that the bike will roll on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Moreover, it is also mentioned that the bike will be available in two variants (internally designated J1C1 and J1C2), where the latter will get a drum brake according to our last report. While the report mentions that the bike is expected to be priced at Rs 1.3-1.4 lakh, we believe that it will likely come with a price tag of Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom), still making it the most affordable bike based on the J-Series platform.
