The upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 450 has been spotted testing once again. New spy shots have surfaced online revealing useful insights into what upcoming Hunter 450 will offer.
The Hunter 450 will share the 450cc Sherpa engine from the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which delivers a peak output of 40.02PS and 40Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. However, the engine will be tuned differently to suit the Hunter's character. The round instrument cluster on the test bike seems to be borrowed from the Himalayan 450. The spied motorcycle also includes LED headlights, taillights, and indicators.
Similar design language as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, the test bike gets a rounded tank with flatter surface around the sides. The 450cc roadster will have a single-piece seat, a raised handlebar, and mid-set footpegs, offering an upright riding posture. Split grabrails set the upcoming 450cc Royal Enfield bike apart from its smaller sibling. Its tail section resembles that of the Himalayan 450. The Hunter 450 is equipped with a telescopic fork (to manage costs) and a monoshock.
The alloy wheels in the spy images are different from the smaller Hunter and look similar to the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650’s alloys. The bike appears to have a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel. Interestingly, the bike seems to have block-pattern tyres.
The Royal Enfield Hunter 450 is expected to launch at the end of 2024 and is likely to be priced at around Rs 2.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The 450cc roadster will compete against the other sub-500cc roadsters such as the Triumph Speed 400, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Hero Mavrick 440, Harley-Davidson X440 and QJ Motor SRC 500.
