The units will arrive from early 2021
- Royal Enfield launched the new cruiser in India in November.
- The international-spec model receives no changes.
- The bike will be offered in the same three variants with tonnes of customisable options.
Royal Enfield has announced that its new Meteor 350 will be available in Europe from early 2021 onwards. All three trims of the bike -- Fireball, Stellar and Supernova -- will be sold abroad. The UK prices for the new cruiser have been announced and needless to say, they are nearly double the amount of the ex-showroom Delhi prices, export costs and taxes playing their part. Here are the prices:
There hasn't exactly been a meteoric growth in the sales charts for Royal Enfield with the new Meteor in India but the cruiser has definitely made a good impression. The new 349cc single-cylinder thumper is a lot more refined and energetic than its old UCE counterpart. In our test runs, the Meteor was significantly quicker than the Classic 350 BS6 we tested a while ago. It was able to sustain speeds of around 100kmph without breaking a sweat.
The Meteor 350 meets the A2 licensing power requirements for novice riders. It is likely that the Classic 500, currently sold in the UK and other parts of Europe, will be discontinued from 2021 onwards as it will not meet the EU5 norms. The Meteor 350 then will be the new entry point into the Royal Enfield portfolio, with just the Himalayan, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 sitting above it.
