[Update: Royal Enfield has launched the Meteor 350 in India. Head here for the pricing and other details regarding the launch]

Royal Enfield is all set to launch its most awaited motorcycle, the Meteor 350, real soon. There have been numerous reports about its specifications, features, pricing and launch date. We summarise all of these in one convenient package:

Expected launch timeline:

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was initially expected to be launched much earlier but the coronavirus pandemic caused a delay in the proceedings. It was then expected to debut by the end of this month, but we’ve just come to know that the launch has now been delayed to next month. But we’re hopeful that there won’t be further delays after this. You can read more about it here.

Expected pricing:

In April this year, the price of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 leaked online. As per the leaked pricing, the motorcycle cost Rs 1,68,550 (ex-showroom), including a bunch of accessories. This made the motorcycle around Rs 11,900 dearer than the Thunderbird 350. However, with the recent price hike across Royal Enfield’s existing portfolio, it is likely that the motorcycle will start from around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. And yes, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be available in three variants.

Variants Explained:

Royal Enfield will offer the Meteor 350 in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. The best thing is that the cult bikemaker has retained all the essential bits across all the three variants so that prospective customers don’t feel like they’re missing out on anything major. We have done a detailed analysis of what all the variants are all about, and you can find it here.

Specifications Detailed:

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be powered by an all-new 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine which churns out 20.4PS at 6100rpm and 27Nm at 4000rpm. While these figures aren’t all that different from the Thunderbird 350’s UCE engine, the motor is expected to be significantly more refined and might also be more highway-worthy than the older heart. Features revealed:

Royal Enfield has equipped the Meteor 350 with quite a few features that are a first for the brand. It comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and even turn-by-turn navigation. There’s a USB port right on the switchgear too. These bits make the motorcycle the most geek-friendly Royal Enfield out there. Check out all the juicy details here. And if you’re a Royal Enfield enthusiast but aren’t keen on buying the Meteor 350, you can treat yourself with some tastefully made scale models, sold as a part of official merchandise too.
