Apart from a three-year standard warranty, Royal Enfield also offers a bevy of packages to ensure hassle-free maintenance for three years
Royal Enfield made a big impact in the small-capacity cruiser segment with the launch of its all-new Meteor 350. Apart from a much more refined engine, it gets quite a few new features to make it an even more alluring proposition than its predecessor, the Thunderbird 350 range. Besides, the cult bikemaker has also taken proactive steps to ensure that maintaining it is a hassle-free experience.
To begin with, the bike comes with a standard warranty of three years. You can also opt for an extended warranty for two more years. The fourth year extended warranty alone costs Rs 1,799 whereas the fourth and fifth year extended warranty package will set you back by Rs 2,999. You can also spend Rs 1,600 over this to avail a Roadside Assistance package (RSA) for five years. So, by spending Rs 4,599, you’ll be assured complete peace of mind for five years as far as warranty and RSA are concerned. While RSA is standard for one year from the date of purchase of the bike, you can also extend it for just the second year by paying Rs 700. You can even opt for the second and third year RSA package for Rs 1,099.
The service cost of a Royal Enfield motorcycle has been slightly on the higher side. In a bid to make it easier on the pocket, the brand has introduced an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for the Meteor 350. This package debuted with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, followed by the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and then the Meteor 350. For the cruiser, the brand offers three packages: AMC Silver, Gold and Platinum -- all for three years.
The AMC Silver package costs Rs 9,999. This preventive maintenance package includes the costs of parts, lubes and labour. Retailing for Rs 19,999, the Gold package includes everything under the Silver package and also covers wear-and-tear items including brake pads, clutch friction plate, throttle and clutch cable. Opting for the AMC Platinum package will give you coverage for the tyres and batteries as well, apart from everything under the Gold package. This one costs Rs 26,999 for three years without pickup and drop service, and Rs 29,999 with it.
Do note that all these packages are valid only from the date of purchase of the vehicle. While the money saved in service may not be all that much in the first year (you’ll still save a bit nonetheless), it would be considerable in the subsequent years as paying up front will negate the price increase of the parts due to inflation.
Overall, opting for these packages should not only help you save up money but should also ensure total peace of mind when it comes to keeping your motorcycle in tip-top shape.
