[Update: Royal Enfield has launched the Meteor 350 in India. Head here for the pricing and other details regarding the launch]

The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor’s launch has been delayed yet again. This all-new motorcycle is now expected to come after Diwali. According to ET Auto, the Meteor has been delayed as Royal Enfield is keen to launch its all new motorcycle with the Make Your Own app.

The new MYO app will allow customers to customise the Meteor via an online configurator and have it delivered at their doorstep. This new initiative is being developed under the watchful eyes of Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari.

This new initiative is being developed under the watchful eyes of Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari. The new Meteor will be the first of Royal Enfield’s new lineup based on its new J platform. It gets a new 350cc air-cooled motor and will come with features like a digital instrument console with navigation. It will be a replacement to the now discontinued Thunderbird. The rest of Royal Enfield’s new motorcycle range will be launched later next year. We feel that Royal Enfield’s decision to launch the Meteor after the festive season is a big miss as that time period is considered auspicious and preferable by customers when it comes to buying anything, motorcycles included. With Honda’s new CB350 H’Ness deliveries to begin soon, it will no doubt eat into potential Meteor sales.
