Royal Enfield notes down 49% growth, Expands to Australia

Another month of 2015 for Royal Enfield went right as this February, they registered a growth of 49% over the corresponding period last year. The company sold 30240 units, combining domestic wholesale of 29491 units and exports of 749 units in February 2015. The company has planned bigger and better as they have invested around Rs. 500 crore to establish two new technology centers. They have also preparing to enter in to foreign markets like Australia and UK with their hardcore bikes and new professionals.
Eicher Motors Ltd. announces its Annual Results for CY2014 and reports best ever standalone performance of the Royal Enfield business
Eicher Motor Limited’s standalone business i.e. the Royal Enfield business, posted its best ever yearly performance in CY2014. The company recorded its highest ever total income from operations at Rs 3031.2 crores, a growth over 78% from Rs 1702.5 crores in CY 2013. The company significantly improved profitability posting an EBIT of 22.5% bettering 16.6% in CY 2013.
Standalone Results CY 2014 as compared to CY 2013 and Q4 2014 as compared to Q4 2013:
Royal Enfield continues to grow at a phenomenal pace and in 2014 best ever sales of over 300,000 units. In 2015, the company plans to manufacture 450,000 units. With a view to become the leader in the global mid-sized motorcycling, Royal Enfield will build two new technology centers. The larger one will be at a new 4.5 acre property on Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai, and will be operational by Q2 2016; a smaller satellite center is being set up in Leicestershire, UK, and will be operational by the end of 2015. These technology centers will significantly enhance capability to execute Royal Enfield’s long term product strategy. Royal Enfield’s immediate business outlook is strong and the company will be investing INR 500 crores in 2015 in all strategic areas for long term growth, including capacity expansion, product development, frontline and backend.
Royal Enfield appoints Urban Moto as its distributor in Australia
With a view to reignite the mid-sized motorcycle segment in Australia, Royal Enfield announced Urban Moto Imports as their distributor for the country. Urban Moto Imports will be announcing the new dealer and service agent network soon. The new distributors have proven expertise and experience that synergize well with Royal Enfield’s brand experience.
Urban Moto Imports will be responsible for supplying, marketing, reselling, distribution and servicing of Royal Enfield products in the Australian market. They will operate out of Melbourne with a dealer network across Australia and New Zealand. Royal Enfield will be retailing its popular models – Bullet (AUD 6991), Classic (AUD 7290) and the new Continental GT cafe racer (AUD 7992) through Urban Moto’s dealer networks. These modern classic bikes will reinstate the category of mid-sized motorcycles (250cc- 750cc) in Australia. These bikes will be retailed through exclusive Royal Enfield stores that will be opened. Royal Enfield will also be introducing its range of purpose-built apparel and accessories. Australia is a strategic market for Royal Enfield given the demand from growing classic motorcycle loving customers and the fabulous riding terrain.
