Royal Enfield Rider Mania 2016 – What to expect this year?

Starting from 18th November, the 3-day event will have a lot of new attractions for the rider and the enthusiast
The annual motorcycling festival in Vagator is a Mecca for Royal Enfield aficionados with a lot of RE riding groups and Bullet clubs from all around the globe make the pilgrimage to Rider Mania. The 3-day festival has an expansive line up of motorcycling events ranging from contests to learning courses to live music. Visitors can also shop for a plethora of motorcycling accessory and gear stalls at Rider Mania.
There is a host of things you can do over the course of three days:
FOR THE RIDER
Off-road training session- A one-hour session will be conducted on 18th November, where the participants will be trained for basic riding skills on dirt by experienced coaches. This course has been included for Himalayan owners to polish their dirt riding skills but Bullet owners can also take part in the course.
Dirt track racing- This year, the racing event will feature a Himalayan category in addition to the upto 360cc & up to 550cc class. The Dirt Track Racing event is scheduled across three days (18th-20th November) and will follow the International Sporting Code of the FIM and The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). It will have a “Race of Champions”, where last years’ podium finishers will go ahead and race with this years’ podium finisher.
Slow Race- As the name states, the slowest participant to complete the track without putting their leg down or going out of their lane wins.
Maze Chase- Maze chase is all about knowing your bikes. The race has riders use their manoeuvrability skills to complete the specially designed tight course in the shortest time.
Assembly Wars and Carry your Bike- These events is all about team work and test participants skill with the bike and build spirit of motorcycling. Assembly wars require a team of four to disassemble and assemble a bike in the quickest time possible. Carry your bike has the team carrying a bike across the finish line, the fastest team wins.
Trials course- The race event has a specially designed obstacle course with a special category for Himalayan owners starting from this year.
Learner’s course- Starting this year the learners course will be initiated to introduced novice bikers to the experience of riding Bullets .
Exploration rides- Early Risers’ is a ride for those who want to experience Goa and will start from the Rider Mania venue on 19th & 20th November. These rides will take participants to Mahadai Wildlife Sanctuary, Divar Island via Panjim to Old Goa comprising of a ferry ride before culminating at Vagator.
FOR THE BUDDING FILMMAKERS
Riders with a flair for filmmaking will have an opportunity to showcase their skills with the camera through a special ‘Shoot your Rider Mania 2016’ workshop. Starving artist films (S.A.F)’s Rahul Datta, who has worked with some of the most well-known brands in the country, will be present at the venue to share his knowledge and experiences with the participants.
FOR THE ENTHUSIASTS
Custom bike exhibition- Custom bikes have always been a huge draw at Rider Mania with top bike builders displaying their creation at the venue. Most of these custom bikes are exclusively designed and built for Rider Mania.
