The bike could be launched in India later this year
- The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 gets a split seat setup for better practicality unlike the single seater SG650 Concept.
- Gets slightly lowered handlebars and mid-set footpegs for a slight forward-leaned ergonomics.
- The blacked out pea-shooter exhausts look similar to the one in the concept bike.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been spotted, sporting tastefully done dual-tone alloy wheels. The alloy wheel finish is reminiscent of the Royal Enfield Concept KX. Expect Royal Enfield to launch this motorcycle after the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, later this year. It could be priced at around Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The alloy wheels come with a star-like pattern with alternating black and brushed metal finishes. It is unclear whether the round headlight is LED or halogen but it is enclosed in an aerodynamic cowl, neatly covering the twin pod instrument cluster. The console gets a larger main pod (likely to be a similar semi-digital unit as the Royal Enfield Meteor 350), and a smaller Tripper Navigation pod.
The handlebar is low and wide, whereas the rider’s footpegs are mid-set, resulting in a slightly forward biased riding stance. Both rider and pillion footpegs are flat and wide for better comfort. The motorcycle gets a split seat setup for better practicality, unlike the single seat layout in the SG650 Concept. That said, the pillion seat could be designed to be removable for those who want a more cleaner look, in line with the bobber styling.

It also gets a few accessories including a blacked out crash guard, touring rear view mirrors, and a metal sump guard. The retro-style blacked out pea-shooter exhausts look similar to that of the SG650 Concept, and the bike shares the same 648cc parallel-twin air-oil-cooled engine (albeit blacked out) as the Interceptor 650 / Continental GT 650. In the 650 twins, the motor makes 47.6PS and 52Nm, and expect the Shotgun to also come in the same state of tune.
Like the Super Meteor 650, this one gets a premium inverted front fork, and there are twin rear shock absorbers. While the 650 twins have the front brake on the left side, the disc in this motorcycle is on the right side.
The Shotgun 650 does not have any natural rivals; however, if you’re looking for a premium 650cc cruiser, the more expensive Kawasaki Vulcan S is the only other alternative.
