Apart from the Classic 350 and the Himalayan, Royal Enfield is yet to officially launch the rest of its motorcycles in BS6 avatar. While models such as the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and the Classic 350 BS6 single-channel ABS variant have been spotted at dealerships, we are yet to hear anything about the Thunderbird 350 BS6. According to our sources, Royal Enfield might launch the all-new Thunderbird 350, based on the J-Platform, instead of giving it a minor update.
For the past few weeks, social media has been abuzz with images and videos of the upcoming Thunderbird 350, which could be called the ‘Meteor.’ The upcoming motorcycle gets a major cosmetic update in the form of restyled body panels, a new instrument cluster, and LED DRLs.
However, the major changes are under the skin, particularly, the engine. Royal Enfield might bump the displacement size to around 400-450cc, which could help it shrink the gap between the current 350cc models and the 500cc models. Moreover, the brand has stopped manufacturing its 500cc motorcycles as the sales were not promising enough. Hence, it wouldn’t have made sense for the bike maker to update it to meet the BS6 emission norms. We have done a detailed story on the upcoming Thunderbird, which you can read here.
All this is speculation for now, until we see the real deal. But this is not the only motorcycle that’s in the works. The brand has already trademarked the names Sherpa, Roadster, Hunter, and Flying Flea. So, expect a range of brand new motorcycles from Royal Enfield!
