The oldest motorcycle brand in production - Royal Enfield is all set to unfold a new chapter in motorcycling history with the fourth edition of Tour of Bhutan, which is scheduled to start on 10th October 2015. The two-wheeled subsidiary of Eicher motors is organising this event where a total of 30 riders will be covering a distance of 1,200 kilometres in 12 days zipping through the mystic and glorious roads of the land of the Thunder Dragons to cherish the true spirit of motorcycling. Starting from Siliguri, this “Tour of Bhutan” is going to be an enriching motorcycling adventure that will take the riders through the most scenic mountains forming the famous Annapurna ranges. The Tour of Bhutan is one of the most picturesque and scenic rides in Royal Enfield’s calendar and is indeed a ride right into the dragon’s lair. This unique adventure in the Himalayan Kingdom will traverse through the snow-capped mountain peaks in the eastern Himalayan ranges, namely the black mountains and the Shivaliks. Riding on Royal Enfield motorcycles these riders will be cruising through the country roads lined with orchards and rice fields, dotted with tiny villages and bustling marketplaces; where they won’t find any long straight stretches as most of the roads are either ascending or descending into the hills in a series of sharp or smooth curves. Traffic on the roads is minimal but the terrain is challenging ensuring that the ride never gets boring.
The route has been chalked out specifically, to challenge the riders with the winding mountain roads; majestic mountain ranges; slushy off-road trails; water crossings & slush, gravel tracks, cross narrow suspension bridges as well as straight stretches through some of the most pristine forests. This ride promises to test the Royal Enfield rider’s grit and offers an opportunity to leave their marks on the most challenging and adventurous terrains in the world.
