Royal Enfield, a division of Eicher Motors Ltd, has already gained so much value in India and UK, but now the company is planning to increase its presence in North America. For this, the company will be introducing three new bikes in the US and Canada. To do that, they have set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in North America that will take over their existing North American operations. The bikes that will be launched are Continental GT, Classic and Bullet. Currently, Royal Enfield is distributing their bikes in the US through Classic Motor Works.
Speaking to a US publication, Rod Copes, President, Royal Enfield North America, said that the company has been increasing at more than 50% year-on-year sales for the past 5 years. The former executive of Harley-Davidson said that Royal Enfield aims to allure new American and existing riders, with the new range of its averaging 500cc machines. He also said, “We think it’s a very exciting time for Royal Enfield”.
Royal Enfield is also planning to increase its production capacity to 900,000 units in upcoming years. The company has already decided how it is going to achieve the target as they are planning to set up 3rd plant at its Oragadam manufacturing facility near Chennai. Recently, Royal Enfield has launched its 500cc machine in Indonesia as Rumbler 500. The company has also recorded 50 per cent sales growth in 2015.
