Royal Enfield recently announced the dates for the 13th edition of the Himalayan Odyssey. While the company is expecting to see a good response yet again, this year’s ride has a new and unique highlight. The motorcycle maker is organizing a women’s only edition of the Himalayan Odyssey and is calling all female Royal Enfield enthusiasts to come and be a part of it.
The special edition event is powered by She Travels on a Royal Enfield (STRE), a community of women motorcyclists who ride Royal Enfields across the globe. In its maiden edition, Himalayan Odyssey - Women (HO-W) is opening registrations for up to 20 female participants who will take on the challenge of riding through the Himalayas.
Apart from the participants, the entire HO-W contingent, including the service staff, technicians, doctors and crew will comprise of women only. This year, the Himalayan Odyssey will have two contingents. Both will be flagged off from Delhi together and the ride will be held from July 9-23, but they will ride on different routes before finally converging at Leh.
The 17-day ride will traverse through some of the roughest terrains and highest mountain passes, covering a distance of more than 2,500 km. The event will see riders going through harsh weather fluctuations and the challenging terrain of places like Narkanda, Sarchu, Jispa and Khardung-La.
Royal Enfield has created the HO-W with the aim of getting its female customers more involved in the brand’s lifestyle activities. Women riders can register themselves at: http://royalenfield.com/ho/register/
