The upcoming power cruiser will use the 450cc engine of the upcoming Himalayan 450
Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the upcoming Himalayan 450 soon and then the Hunter 450 and the spy shots for both we have already seen. And now, it seems like the manufacturer is working on a new power cruiser idea centered around the same liquid-cooled 450cc platform.
The power cruiser still seems to be in the ideation stage, and this will be Royal Enfield’s take on the 400-500cc power cruiser segment to rival the likes of the Bajaj Dominar 400, and the Benelli 502C. As a reference, it might get a silhouette similar to that of the Benelli 502C. Reportedly codenamed K1D, the power cruiser can get a low-slung seat with swept back handlebars and a relaxed riding posture. It might also get an upside-down (USD) fork suspension setup. The motorcycle is expected to be loaded with features like a TFT instrument console, all-LED lighting to start with.
The liquid-cooled 450cc engine platform from Royal Enfield is modern, sophisticated, and it is evident that Royal Enfield would’ve spent a lot of resources in developing it. So, debuting with the upcoming Himalayan 450 and then the Hunter 450, it’s only logical for the Chennai-based bikemaker to spawn even more iterations. So, Royal Enfield working on the idea of a power cruiser based on this platform doesn’t seem far-fetched. Also, the manufacturer has never entered the power cruiser space before, so this will be a new territory for them if the idea comes into fruition. With the powerful, performance-packed liquid-cooled engine, they seem to be well-prepared for it too, considering the Dominar 400 didn’t really, er, dominate the sales.
We can’t comment on the pricing as of now because the motorcycle is still in the concept stage. If we’re lucky, expect it to be launched sometime around 2026.
