Speculation Time for TVS Motor

The third largest two wheeler company in India- TVS Motor acclaimed that it expects that the sale of its two wheelers will increase by 14% during the financial year 2011-12 and with this company is also speculating to launch two new models of two wheelers in market by the end of this year.

This was disclosed by Mr. H.S. Goindi, TVS Motor,  President, Marketing. According to him there is continuous growth in demand of TVS two wheelers in market though not equivalent as compared to last year. He also added that the present growth ranges between 13 to 14 percent which according to TVS Motor Co. will slightly increase more in the coming future.

According the financial statements presented by the TVS Motor Co. for the year 2010-11 company has shown an increase of 33.17 percent as compared to last financial year 2009-10. In reply to a question regarding launch of any new two wheeler in market Mr. Goindi said that company is in process of launching two new two wheelers in market this year of which one will be a scooter and the other one would be a motorcycle. However he further refused to share more details about their future plans. As is known TVS Motor Co had already announced that it will make its re-entry in electric scooter in India during this year. To re-enter in scooter market company had already launched 50 electric scooters to carry out the test drive. Prior to this company in 2008 had launched TVS Scooty Teenz electric scooter in market targeting the sale of 40,000 units per year in the India bike market. Although in the starting month of its launch TVS Scooty Teenz was open heartedly accepted by the youth especially by the college going girls but any how suddenly its demand deteriorated and TVS Motor had to stop its production.
