Steelbird has launched the SA-1 Aeronautics helmet range in India, which the brand claims is the first of its kind in the world with NACA (United States National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) duct airflow technology. It is essentially an air scoop designed for minimal drag. The scoop doesn’t protrude above the helmet surface, and thus results in a more streamlined airflow compared to conventional ducts. This type of air duct is commonly found in aeroplanes, and is in fact originally developed by NACA.

The helmet also features a photochromatic visor which automatically darkens under sunlight, and becomes transparent in its absence. This is extremely helpful as it eliminates the need for two types of visors for day and night riding. The SA-1 Aeronautics helmet is one of the most affordable ones in the market to have this feature as it is commonly found in high-end helmets. The helmet is priced from Rs 2999 to Rs 5999 depending on the choice of visor. Weighing around 1150 grams, the helmet is available in two sizes: 580mm and 600mm. World’s first helmet with NACA Duct Airflow Technology with Photochromatic Visor

New Delhi, 19th February 2019: Asia’s largest Helmet manufacturer, Steelbird Hi-Tech India launches SA-1 Aeronautics Helmet, World’s first helmet with NACA duct Airflow Technology.
