Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has started accepting bookings for its electric scooters, the Activa e: and QC1. This move is part of the company’s entry into the electric two wheeler vehicle market in India.
Booking Details
Customers can book the Activa e: and QC1 by paying a booking amount of Rs 1,000. The Activa e: is available for booking at select Honda dealerships in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. While the QC1 can be booked in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. Deliveries for both models are expected to begin in February 2025. The pricing is expected to be revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 later this month.
Honda Activa e:
The Activa e: is equipped with two 1.5 kWh swappable batteries, providing a range of 102 km on a full charge. These batteries can only be charged at designated Honda battery swapping stations, which are already operational in Bengaluru and Delhi, with plans to expand further. The scooter features a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and incoming call and SMS alerts. It also comes with a 3-year/50,000 km warranty, with 3 free services and roadside assistance for the first year. The Activa e: is powered by a 6kW in-board motor, allowing it to reach speeds up to 80km/h. Riders can choose from 3 riding modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport.
Honda QC1
The QC1 on the other hand is the more affordable option of the two. It features a 1.5 kWh fixed battery, providing a range of 80km per charge. Charging time is approximately 4.5 hours from 0-80%, with a full charge taking 6.5 hours. The QC1 uses a 1.8kW rear-wheel hub-mounted motor, which delivers 77Nm and allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 50km/h. The scooter also features a 5-inch LCD display, a USB Type-C outlet, and 26 litres of underseat storage.
