Ever been to a two-wheeler dealership to get the bike of your dreams, only to be met with the words: “Not in stock”, or been hinted to “Pay a premium”, for delivery? Such a scenario is not uncommon in a high-volume market like India. Well then Suzuki Australia’s unique tool for an online stock-check could prove to be the answer that we may have been looking for. The Australian website of Suzuki motors www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au has introduced a state-of-the-art function called ‘Stock Locator’ where customers can instantly check the availability of their desired model at the click of a button.

If introduced in India, it could revolutionise the automotive market here because at present people have to visit the nearest dealership to check out the availability of a particular model. Though some of these models are available online but details of stock availability on every dealership can really help the customer in making the final buying decision. With this information available to the customers so easily, such a feature could also check the malpractice by many dealerships who resort to hoarding and black marketing products for higher profit margins.

This function can be seen in the ‘View Availability’ tab on each model page. Once the customer clicks on the View Availability option then “find a dealer box” appear on the window, where only one thing left for the customer to do is to enter the pin code of its locality and instantly one gets the details like nearby stocking dealers, Contact details and Address of the dealership, model availability in colours, units ready for test ride etc.

Lewis Croft, marketing manager for Suzuki Motorcycle, said that it is a welcome additional  feature on the Japanese label website. "This new feature sees another key marketing project completed in our on-going digital strategy, with further projects planned to be rolled out this year. No longer is a website just an electronic brochure leaving the customer with the envious task of phoning or visiting numerous dealers to locate their desired motorcycle, our new website is enhancing the connection between customers and our dealers" concluded Croft.

We believe, Suzuki Motorcycle will soon launch this function in India and once launched it surely make buying of bikes more convenient and customer friendly.
