Aside from this, the scooter remains completely unchanged
While the Suzuki Burgman Street does pass off as a maxi-scooter in India, it does have much larger versions sold abroad. One of these is the Burgman 200, which has received three new colours as part of its 2020 update. The Burgman 200, which is sold in most of the Far East countries, is now available in a choice of either black, white or silver.
Aside from these new colours, the scooter has remained completely unchanged. That means it continues to be powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 200cc SOHC motor that churns out 18.35PS. Drive is sent to the 12-inch rear wheel via a CVT, while the front wheel is a 13-incher. Suspension is taken care of by a telescopic fork and monoshock, while braking duties are handled by twin 240mm discs up front. At the rear you get a single 240mm disc too and dual-channel ABS is standard.
The practicality aspect is handled by a massive 41-litre underseat storage compartment aided by another 7-litres on the back of the apron. A large front screen helps with wind protection and the underseat compartment also features a DC charging port. This being a maxi-scooter, it does sport a prominent underbone section, but the floorboard features cut-outs on the sides to help you get your feet down more easily.
Unfortunately, Suzuki has no plans to bring the Burgman 200 to India anytime soon, but the good news is that the brand is working on a slightly larger Burgman Street for India, something in the 150-160cc range. This model will be tailor-made for our nation, just like the Intruder and Gixxer, so expectations are high.
