- The BS6 Gixxer SF makes 0.5PS and 0.2Nm less than the BS4 model.
- Apart from the slightly updated engine, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same as before.
- Deliveries of the BS6-compliant Gixxer SF will begin soon.
Suzuki brought a bunch of motorcycles with it at the Auto Expo 2020. Nothing exciting to be honest, but Suzuki took this event to update its entire model lineup to meet the new BS6 emission norms. And just moments after unveiling the BS6 Gixxer, the Japanese brand has now unveiled the BS6 Gixxer SF as well.
In terms of design, the 2020 Gixxer SF remains identical to the older model. Considering the Gixxer SF was given a mid-life update last year, we don’t think Suzuki has to change the design for quite a while now. Even in the features department, it remains the same as its predecessor. So it gets an LED headlamp, a fully digital instrument cluster… and that’s about it. It’s a 155cc fully faired motorcycle, what more do you expect it to get?
The 2019 Gixxer SF was powered by a BS6-ready 155cc motor, so Suzuki’s engineers had a pretty easy job at their hands to make it comply with the upcoming emission norms. The BS6-compliant 155cc air-cooled engine now makes 13.6PS of power and 13.8Nm of torque. Suspension duties are taken care of by 41mm telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear.
Apart from the newly unveiled 155cc Gixxers, Suzuki has also unveiled the BS6-compliant Gixxer 250, the Gixxer SF 250, and the Burgman Street. In short, Suzuki’s entire commuter segment is now BS6-compliant.
