The Japanese brand has released a teaser on its social media channels about the new colours
- Suzuki had already updated the GSX-R150, GSX-R750 as well as the GSX-R1000R with the 2020 MotoGP livery.
- Expect both the India-spec Gixxer SF and the Gixxer SF 250 to get these colours soon.
- The new MotoGP editions are likely to command a premium of around Rs 1,000 - Rs 1,200 over the standard colour variants.
To commemorate its 100th Anniversary, Suzuki India has teased the arrival of new colours for its sporty Gixxer range. The brand is likely to introduce the 2020 MotoGP livery for both the 155cc Suzuki Gixxer SF as well as the quarter-litre Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
The two motorcycles are already available in MotoGP editions but the colour scheme isn’t the new one. The 2020 Suzuki MotoGP livery has been introduced in the international-spec GSX-R150, GSX-R750 and the top-of-the-line GSX-R1000R. Expect the same livery to be updated in the Indian motorcycles as well. Over the standard colour variants, the current MotoGP editions command a premium of Rs 1,030 and Rs 801 for the Gixxer SF and the Gixxer SF 250 respectively. Expect the new livery to cost between Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 more than the normal colours.
The new colour variants should liven up the faired Gixxer range as the standard colours look too bland to be honest. Other than the MotoGP livery, both the bikes are available in just two colours: silver and black. As far as the price is concerned, the standard colour variant of the Gixxer SF retails at 1,23,940 whereas the Gixxer SF 250 costs Rs 1,76,140, ex-showroom Delhi.
Expect the mechanicals to remain unchanged. The 155cc bike produces 13.6PS and 13.8Nm whereas the quarter-litre Gixxer is good for 26.5PS and 22.2Nm. Both bikes use a telescopic front fork, rear monoshock and disc brake on both ends. Suzuki has not offered any new tangible features to justify the price hike for the BS6-compliant iteration, though.
