Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially announced to launch the new Gixxer SF on 7th April, 2015. As the full faired motorcycle has already spotted during test runs in India, we know how it looks. It shares most of the aesthetics with the existing Gixxer, apart from a new full body fairing, which seems inspired by the GSX-R600. We also believe that the specifications of the motorcycle are similar to the naked sport version. However, we will get clear glimpse and pricing of the bike on its launch.
Propelling the new Suzuki Gixxer SF is the 144.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which is based on the new Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology. Powered by a carburetor type fuel system, the motor makes 14.6bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and delivers torque upto 14Nm at 6,000rpm. The bike comes with lots of premium features like fully digital console, light split-spoke alloys, meaty 140/60 section radial tubeless tyre at the rear, front disc brake, adjustable mono-shock rear suspension, muscular 43mm front telescopic forks and sporty twin-port exhaust muffler.
The new Suzuki Gixxer SF didn’t received clip-on handlebars, so it might be proposed as a faired tourer against the Yamaha Fazer. It is expected to be priced under Rs. 80,000, which will be just Rs. 5,000 - 8,000 extra over the price of Suzuki Gixxer. As India is a country of faired machine fans, we strongly believe that the faired version of the most awarded bike of 2014 will do further better here.
