The Suzuki GSX-R250 (Gixxer 250) production model has been spied and is expected to make its debut at the 2016 INTERMOT or EICMA.
It has been confirmed now that Suzuki is bringing a new quarter-litre sportbike soon and the upcoming GSX-R250 (Gixxer 250) could be unveiled at the 2016 INTERMOT fair or the Milan Motorcycle Show. Another source confirming the news is this new spy picture, which is most likely to be the production version of the bike. The upcoming motorcycle was first spotted in December in complete blue guise at the company's plant in Changzhou, China. Now, the bike has been spied in dual tone red-black colour scheme along with the “Suzuki” and “GSX” branding on the fairing and it looks like the production ready model of the GSX-R250.
Some company officials from its Australian wing have also announced that Suzuki Motorcycle is going to introduce a couple of new products at the upcoming INTERMOT and EICMA events in the month of October and November respectively. And we believe that one of these new products is the upcoming Suzuki GSX-R250, which might be introduced as the Gixxer 250 in some of the markets, including India.
The bike has been spotted near the Haojue Suzuki plant in China, where the Inazuma GW250 and GW250F (semi-faired) are also produced. Now, some reports suggest that the Gixxer 250 will share the parallel-twin engine and some other components with the Inazuma, while others are claiming that the bike will get a new single-cylinder mill. If the company uses the twin-cylinder motor from the Inazuma, we can definitely expect a performance boost to meet the level of a fully-faired sportbike.
The styling of the upcoming Suzuki GSX-R250 looks much inspired by its elder siblings. The bike features sharp, edgy body panels along with a sporty full-body fairing. The bike gets a tall windscreen and the position of the clip-ons and the foot-pegs suggest that it could be a sport tourer. The baby GSX features telescopic front forks, monoshock at the rear and lightweight alloys with meaty tyres.
After unveiling the GSX-R250 in the coming couple of months, Suzuki might launch it in various markets in 2017. And India is also one of the expected markets for this upcoming quarter-litre offering, which will compete with the like of the Honda CBR250R, Yamaha R25 and the KTM RC 200.
