Suzuki Intruder BS6 Launched In India

It costs around Rs 12,000 more than before despite missing out on new features or cosmetic updates

• The Intruder BS6 is a tad less powerful than before.

Suzuki has launched the all-new Intruder BS6 at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the BS6 Intruder almost Rs 12,000 more expensive than before! When we say ‘all-new’, you may have assumed that the BS6 version has received new features or a major cosmetic update. But prepare to be disappointed as there are no updates on those fronts whatsoever. 

What’s changed is the engine output. The new BS6-compliant motor with fuel injection makes 13.6PS and 13.8Nm, which is 1.2PS and 0.2Nm less than before. And due to the addition of a new cat-con, the weight has increased by 3kg, at 152kg. Apart from this, there are no changes to report. Even the underpinnings are the same as before. 

A price hike of Rs 12,000 is a tad too much, especially when it doesn’t get anything new at all. In fact, even the KTM 200 Duke had received a price hike of over Rs 10,000, but KTM justified it by completely changing its looks and adding new features. The other cruiser in this category is the Bajaj Avenger Street 160, which is all set to be launched in its BS6 avatar soon. However, it is likely to be priced around Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom).

Suzuki Motorcycle India launches BS6 compliant Modern Day Cruiser: Suzuki INTRUDER
