Suzuki Saluto 125: Picture Gallery

The Suzuki Saluto 125 recently made its debut at the Taipei Motor Show in Taiwan and drew attention the world over. The scooter strays away from the typical Japanese design language and takes inspiration from European scooters instead. Naturally, it’s a looker! And what better way to understand the newly showcased scooter than a number of images that highlight each and every aspect?

To begin with, the Saluto 125 features a new design altogether with a new classic Italian-style squared-off LED headlight with a chrome bezel and a raked front apron. The LED turn indicators are positioned on the apron and sits on top of the chopped fender. 

The flat seat and swooping tail section give the scooter a very distinct retro vibe.   

The U-shaped LED tail light and the edgy LED indicators are neatly incorporated into the body panels.

Interestingly, Suzuki offers the scooter with keyless ignition. There’s a knob on the right side which we believe opens the seat and the fuel filler cap. 

For added convenience, the Suzuki Saluto 125 features an external fuel filler cap positioned on the front apron. However, the fuel tank itself is placed below the floorboard, resulting in a low centre of gravity. Moreover, there’s additional storage space on the front apron for small knick-knacks.

This also frees up space under the seat, which should be enough to fit a full-face helmet. 

The retro-looking instrument console with chrome highlights gels well with the overall theme. The unit is accompanied by a semi-digital console that sits below the analogue cluster. 

Another neat touch is the switchgear design. Even though the oval-shaped switches remind you of a certain Italian scooter, Suzuki has done a pretty decent job at adding its own little touch.

Powering the scooter is a 124cc, fuel-injected motor that’s said to be carried over from the Swish 125. In its current state of tune, the engine makes 9.4PS of power at 7000rpm and 10Nm of torque at 6000rpm. The BS6 Access 125, on the other hand, generates 8.7PS and 10Nm. 

In terms of underpinnings, the scooter uses a telescopic fork and monoshock which may have some form of adjustability. 

Its braking setup comprises of a disc up front and a drum unit at the back. However, it doesn’t seem to get CBS (Combined Braking System) or ABS. 

The Saluto 125 rolls on 10-inch alloy wheels on both ends wrapped around chunky tyres.

The Saluto 125 is unlikely to make it to India. In case it does, expect the scooter to be priced at the higher end of the septum considering its superior build quality and feature list.
