Suzuki Targeting a Spot Amongst the Top 5

Suzuki Motorcycles, the two wheeler department of Suzuki Motor Corporation, is targeting to repeat its successful story of the Indian car market in the two wheeler market as well. The company considers the Indian two wheeler market as one full with lot of scope and opprtunities and hence it is taking it very seriously. Thus, Suzuki Motorcycles is aiming to crash into the top 5 positions in the Indian two wheeler market. This desire of the company was revealed by one of the officials from Suzuki. In order to fulfill this dream, Suzuki Motorcycles has declared its plans to start its new two wheelere producing plant in Rohtak, Haryana.
This plant will also act as an assembly line and is expected to achieve a capacity of producing 2 million vehicles by the year 2015-16. With this strategy, the company plans to dominate the Indian market similar to its four wheeler partner Maruti Suzuki, which is one of the market leaders in its segment. During the first phase of manufacturing, around around five lakh units would be produced. This phase would begin from 2014. The company would then expand this phase and would later produce close to almost 2 million vehicles.
Further, Suzuki Motorcycles is planning the introduction of the company's new bike, the Suzuki Hayate. This stylish two wheeler comes with a 110 cc engine. It would be competing with other popular two wheelers of the market like the Hero Passion, Hero Splendor, Bajaj Discover and TVS Star Sports. The company aims to sale around 10,000 units of Suzuki Hayate per month during the beginning. This will help them to double their market share. The company has also finalised the famous Bollywood actor, Salman Khan as its brand ambassador. Suzuki had earlier introduced the gearless scooter, Suzuki Swish in the Indian market.
