Suzuki to Give Away 7 Gixxers to Red Bull Campus Cricket 2016 Stars

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), in collaboration with Red Bull, has organised a cricket tournament. This college-level event will be the 5th edition of Red Bull Campus Cricket (RBCC). The tournament began on February 29 and is taking place in various cities across the country. The RBCC matches are taking place in 24 cities which are - Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, Goa, Jalandhar, Delhi, Jaipur, Jammu, Dehradun, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Vizag, Guwahati, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow and Indore. There will be a total of 96 colleges from all over India that are taking part in the tournament and the top two teams will fight for the title on March 22.
In the first round, colleges will compete against others from their city. A winner from each city will then play zonal matches in the second round. The third round will be the knock-out round where the top two teams from each zone will compete for the title playing quarterfinals, semifinals and finals respectively. As a reward for the best performers, Suzuki will be presenting 7 Gixxer motorcycles. This will be a great platform for budding talent as they will getting a chance to showcase their abilities.
Recently, Suzuki showcased the updated version Gixxer at the 2016 Auto Expo. This latest model is equipped with rear disc brake as an additional feature. First launched in September 2014 in the country, Gixxer has proved to be the most popular motorcycle offered by the company. It houses a 154.9cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled mill that produces 14.59bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
