A few days ago, the pictures of a 250cc sports tourer surfaced and ran all over the Internet rumouring that the bike will be the one-up version of Suzuki Gixxer. Now, we have received a news which says that the Japanese manufacturer might be developing another quarter-liter machine, but this time it has chosen adventure touring platform. If this happens, Suzuki will be opening gates of a new bike category in India that does not have such product.

Currently, V-Strom 650 is the most affordable adventure-tourer motorcycle in the company’s lineup. And if its 250cc version ends up rolling into the production line, the Indian buyers would be getting a worthy quarter-liter machine, if competitively priced.

Earlier, Suzuki introduced the Inazuma in the 250cc category, which failed miserably due to its high cost and poor sales report. If the company bases the V-Strom 250 on Inazuma’s frame, it might add up to the production cost that will end up as a negative factor in our price sensitive country. Taking this in consideration, Suzuki might develop a new frame for V-Strom 250 using an altered frame design from the Inazuma.

However, a new 250cc bike on a completely different platform might prove a game-changing factor for the company, certainly if they price it right.
