Interested in the V-Strom 250? Check out its critical numbers
The Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX is the third offering in the 250cc space from the Japanese two-wheeler giant. While the Gixxer 250 twins are focussed for the streets, the V-Strom 250 is positioned as an ADV tourer. The Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX competes against the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and the KTM 250 ADV. If you’re planning to buy the V-Strom 250, here are its real-world performance figures that will help you in finalising your purchase decision.
Performance
Acceleration |
|
0-60kmph |
3.74sec |
0-80kmph |
6.07sec |
0-100kmph |
9.90sec |
Roll-on acceleration |
|
30-70kmph |
4.75sec |
40-80kmph |
5.81sec |
The above figures would have made you realise that the V-Strom isn’t the quickest 250cc bike on sale. But for a motorcycle of its size and nature, the acceleration times are quite brisk, making it a fun to ride bike in the cityscape. The roll-on figures aren’t too bad either and you can build back momentum easily. As for overtakes, the healthy mid-range allows you to pass a vehicle without downshifting frequently.
Braking
80-0kmph |
28.66m |
60-0kmph |
15.77m |
The V-Strom 250 gets disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS comes as standard. As you can see the V-Strom 250 offers one of the best braking numbers for motorcycles in its segment and that too while running off-road tyres. While the stopping power is sharp, the brakes don’t last long as we had to replace the brake pads within 7,000km on our long term bike.
Fuel Efficiency
City |
36.6kmpl |
Highway |
40.05kmpl |
The Suzuki V-Strom 250’s engine offers a great balance of performance and fuel efficiency. You can easily cruise on the bike holding speeds between 100-120kmph or ride gently and extract some great mileage. The above numbers are really impressive and with a 12-litre fuel tank, you’re looking at a real-world range of around 370km on a full tank.
Verdict
As you can see the V-Strom 250 SX is a great all-rounder and can be a good option for someone looking for a comfortable tourer and an able commuter. While the performance isn’t wow-worthy, it is good enough for your daily use and the frugal numbers will keep running costs under check. Also, at Rs 2.12 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s priced aggressively as well.
