We finally have some numbers to go with the Euro-5/BS6-compliant Suzuki V-Strom 650XT. Leaked documents have revealed the specs of the bike which will soon be launched in India. Suzuki first showcased the BS6 V-Strom 650XT at Auto Expo 2020 in February. The switch to cleaner emission norms may bring with it a price hike of around Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 over the BS4 model priced at Rs 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

From the visual point of view, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6 looks identical to the outgoing BS4 bike. The 645cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine which is now Euro 5/ BS6-compliant puts out the same power as before - 71PS. While the torque output hasn't been revealed, we believe it's likely to be the same 62.3Nm. Electronic nannies include a three-stage switchable traction control system and a dual-channel ABS. It weighs the same as before, at 213kg kerb.

The off-road-centric V-Strom 650XT features larger 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels shod with Bridgestone Battlax dual-purpose tubeless tyres. It comes with long travel 43mm telescopic forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking is via twin discs up front and a disc at the rear.
Suzuki will bring in the BS6 V-Strom 650XT via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. It will compete against the BS6 Kawasaki Versys 650.
