A month earlier, we had reported the start of the 9thRoyal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey. The riders stormed back to the city on Sunday evening, with pride, reverberating the whole of the Indian capital yet again with the “thump thump”. They all successfully completed the epic experience they had marched on. The company calls it a pilgrimage, we the biker-hearts call it an adventure tour. Combine both, and one can easily call it an experience. Dr. Venki Padmanabhan on a warm Sunday 16 days ago, had fluttered the flag of this “adventure pilgrimage”.
Now, after a 2722 kilometers of travelling the team is back in New Delhi. To reach back to their base, the riders from all over the country and a few from the world did around 250 kilometers stretch in a single go. It was a non competitive 16 day adventure taken up by 67 riders, coming from all the directions, who started from New Delhi to reach Khardung La and back. All the 67 riders took off on their Royal Enfields, leaving back the humdrums they tackle in their daily lives.
Total strangers returned back friends, young returned back matured, old returned back with young spirits. To bid them all good wishes farewell, Royal Enfield arranged a get together of the all the riders at Turquoise Cottage, Basant Lok, New Delhi, where all the riders were seen anamnestic already. The place almost exploded with the positive vibrations the riders sent!
