One Moto, a Britain-based EV company, has entered India with three new electric scooters: Commuta, Electa, and Byka. The Commuta is an entry-level scooter with a claimed range of 75km, while the Byka and Electa have a claimed range of 150km and are powered by a 4,000W Bosch motor.
Indian startup Ellysium Automotives brought the British EV maker to our shores. The company has its Indian headquarters in Hyderabad and another branch in Mumbai. One Moto says it will be inaugurating its dealerships across all metro cities soon.

The Commuta is priced at Rs 1,20,000, while the Byka and Electa at Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom India). All three electric scooters feature removable lithium-ion battery packs and claim to take 4-5 hours to charge fully. Ellysium Automotives also plans to establish a battery charging/swapping network across the country.
The electric two-wheelers are also offered with the One App, which you can use to fetch riding history, service bookings, GPS, battery performance, search for the battery bank, and get predictive maintenance alerts.
The One Moto Byka appears to be more suitable for deliveries, whereas the Commuta seems to be, well, a commuter. The Electa, on the other hand, looks out-and-out retro, complete with an apron-mounted luggage rack, linked front suspension (the other two electric scooters get a telescopic fork up front), chrome highlights, and a circular headlight and tail lamp.
The three EVs will be available in January 2022, and they will lock horns with TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1, and Ather 450X.
