Sinnis Motorcycles is a UK-based two-wheeler manufacturing company which designs its own bikes and manufactures them through its partner factories from Suzuki, Harley-Davidson and Yamaha. The brand has just launched a new adventure tourer, called the Sinnis T380 or Terrain 380, in the country. It is priced at GBP 4,495, which is around Rs 4.31 lakh. This makes it around Rs 96,400 less expensive than the KTM 390 Adventure in the UK.
Powering this ADV is a 380cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled SOHC engine which delivers 37PS at 9000rpm and 35Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission and offers a claimed mileage of 29.7kmpl. This coupled with the large 18-litre fuel tank should ensure a range of at least 450km on a full tank. The claimed top speed is 138kmph.
The bike also gets premium underpinnings in the form of an inverted front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Like the KTM 390 Adventure, this one too is more of a road-biased adventure tourer thanks to the alloy wheels. They measure 19 inches up front and 17 inches at the rear, and are wrapped with 110-section and 140-section tubeless Timsun dual-purpose tyres.
At 820mm, the seat height is a full 35mm lower than the UK-spec KTM 390 Adventure. That should make it a lot less intimidating for shorter riders. However, on the flip side, it weighs 200kg compared to the 390 Adventure’s dry weight of just 158kg.
As far as features are concerned, it gets a pretty decent list. The bike packs an all-LED lighting system with asymmetrical twin LED projector headlamps that look awfully similar to the BMW GS range. The geeky ones will be happy to know that it gets a full colour digital instrument cluster with smartphone compatibility. It shows useful data like average mileage, average speed, battery voltage, gear position and trip details. There’s a USB charger on the right and an additional 12V charger on the left side of the instrument cluster too. For added practicality, you will also get the option to buy three aluminium lockable, quick-release panniers with a total storage capacity of 105 litres for around Rs 24,500 (GBP 255) extra.

Pre-orders are open online at GBP 100 (around Rs 9,600) and the bike’s deliveries will commence from September 2020. Overall, the bike is an affordable alternative to the KTM 390 Adventure and will also serve as a good learner bike as it is A2 license-friendly. It is even more affordable than the smaller-engined Suzuki V-Strom 250, which is priced at GBP 4,899 (around Rs 4.70 lakh).
