With over Rs 1 lakh in mods, this N160 will definitely manage to turn a lot of heads, and costs almost as much as a Triumph Speed 400
Bikes are an extension of their riders; more so when the owners go to a great length in personalising their machines. At which point, the bikes become a reflection of who the rider is.
Case in point is this Bajaj Pulsar N160. There’s a lot to take in and a glimpse won’t do it justice. It has been modified by Rahul from West Bengal, who one day hopes to own a superbike, but loves his N160 like one. He’s spent a lot of money, almost as much as the bike itself, on the modifications, which now makes the Pulsar worth almost the same price as a Triumph Speed 400 (Rs 2.34 lakh (ex-showroom)). That’s quite a lot of love he has for the bike.
Since the mods are so extensive, we will just take a look at the most obvious ones. Starting with the blacked-out wheel covers, which are quite the trend these days. He has also put fork covers, which are a useful accessory, and extend the life of the fork oil seals. The winglets on top of the handlebar are actually mirrors that flip down to give the bike a more aerodynamic look.
The tank shrouds seem like they are from the second-gen KTM Dukes, but with a custom wrap. The tank grips are yet another useful accessory which help in gripping the tank with your thighs, thus reducing the weight on your hands, shoulders, and back. The rider’s seat has also been modified with extra cushioning and a custom cover. The pillion seat has a cover to complete the superbike appeal Rahul wants from his bike.
The underbelly has a huge cowl for the desired appeal. While the underbelly cowl is used for aerodynamics in a track bike, it also doubles up as a pan to collect engine oil if the engine malfunctions, and leaks oil. This prevents the oil from spilling onto the track and becoming a hazard for other riders. Talking of track bikes, this N160 also has an aftermarket exhaust.
Rahul has put in a lot of effort in personalising this N160, and that’s really impressive. With everything he’s done, his bike will surely stand out in the crowd.
