Called Metal Jacket, the custom bike has been built by Gujarat-based J&D Custom Co.

  • The bike gets a full custom bodywork.
  • It also features an underseat exhaust.
  • The underpinnings have been tweaked too.

J&D Custom Co., a Gujarat-based custom house, has given a retro-modern touch to the Royal Enfield Continental GT. Called Metal Jacket, this build clearly shows its steampunk inspiration with its bare custom-fabricated aluminium full fairing. Even the fuel tank has been custom made in aluminium.

Up front, the speedometer has been replaced with a set of retro-looking toggle switches and the fairing visor has been borrowed from a Royal Enfield helmet! The elegant-looking fairing offers a stark contrast to the extremely minimalistic rear. There’s barely any bodywork apart from the custom-made aluminium tail panels wrapped around a custom shortened subframe.

For a more aggressive stance, the custom house has dropped the custom clip-ons further down below the fork clamps and the fork has been lowered as well. This coupled with the minimalistic single-seat would make the ergonomics ideal only for short rides. At the rear, the swingarm has been extended but the spoke rim, tyres and the brakes appear to be stock.

While the powertrain appears to be untouched, the exhaust is a custom stainless steel unit which is routed under the tail section for a sportier look. For reference, the stock engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission and it makes 29.5PS and 44Nm. Overall, the Metal Jacket is a beautiful amalgamation of sportiness and originality and wouldn’t look out of place if Mad Max rode it across the Australian badlands!
