It has been modified visually to resemble the Iron 883
The Hero Splendor is a very common sight on our roads. And while every owner would love to add a bit of personalisation to their bike, here’s one owner who has modified a Splendor beyond recognition.
Christened the Keyser, this Splensor has been modified by Bengaluru-based Full Throttle Customs (FTC), and tinkered extensively, as no component other than the engine, alloy wheels and suspension looks similar to the stock motorcycle.
The fuel tank now features a peanut design that draws parallels to the Harley Davidson Iron 883. The stock thin seat too has now been replaced with one that is wider with a higher step for the pillion. The alloy wheels feature red pinstripes while accents of the same shade are also visible on the handlebar levers and headlight casing.
The tapered fuel tank results in the frame being exposed, which has been covered by leather bags at both sides. The side panels have been replaced with custom branded ones while the rear features a chunky tyre and custom fender. The front tyre, alloy wheel and suspension components remain the same.
Drawing inspiration from the TVS Ronin, the odometer is now offset, thanks to a unit borrowed from the Bajaj Avenger. The turn indicators too are changed, with a round casing housing arrow shaped patterns.
Mechanically the bike remains the same, powered by the 97.2cc mill producing 8PS and 8.05Nm. With these extensive modifications, the kerb weight of the bike has dropped from 112kg to 109kg. The total cost of all the modifications are said to be around Rs 60,000.
