This Mad Max-inspired build is by Thailand-based Motolord

The Honda CT125 is a rugged little moped built to take on the weekend trails. It is sort of like our TVS XL100’s cooler cousin. But Motolord, a custom house from Thailand, has given it a completely spartan makeover inspired by the Mad Max franchise.

The front fender has been raised ADV-style and the custom headlamp mount doubles up as a luggage rack to secure small knick-knacks. And yes, the LED headlamp is aftermarket. To ensure extra rigidity, the handlebar is braced and gets knuckle guards as well. Even the indicators (as well as the tail lamp) have a protective covering for a rugged look. The extra-wide engine guard doubles up as the mounting point for the single-pod instrument cluster. It might not be practical but the placement is pretty unique, if you ask us.

The rear section has been revised completely for practicality. It gets a double-decker tail rack with a huge lockable top box to keep your scavenged goodies. There’s a retro-looking canvas pannier on the left side whereas the scrambler-style exhaust on the right is protected by an extra brace. To handle all the extra weight at the rear, the stock twin shock absorbers have been replaced with Diablo units from K-Speed, another Thailand-based custom house. Interestingly, the latter recently modified the humble Honda Super Cub into a scrambler, but we digress.

The CT125’s spoke wheels with block pattern tyres, telescopic front fork, and the disc brakes all appear to be stock. The engine is expected to be unchanged, too. In its stock form, the 124.9cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor with a 5-speed transmission churns out 8.1PS and 11Nm.

In Thailand, the stock Honda CT125 starts from THB 84,900 (around Rs 2.02 lakh). We reckon this build would’ve cost around Rs 50,000-Rs 60,000 more. It’s pretty worth it if you’re looking for a sprightly, lightweight moped that can take quite a bit of luggage that too over harsh terrain.
