Both motorcycles are based on the KTMs of their respective engine sizes but retain the quirky looks associated with all Husqvarnas

Two new huskies have just arrived in India as Husqvarna Motorcycles has launched the all-new 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 at Rs 2,92,000 and the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 at Rs 2,19,000. Both bikes are based on the new KTM 390 Duke and the KTM 250 Duke and are priced at Rs 3,10,520 and Rs 2,39,000 (all ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 retains the quirky design language of a Husqvarna motorcycle but it has now gotten a bit bigger and bulkier than the previous-gen bike. It has a new trellis frame and a subframe and the aluminium swingarm is also new, all borrowed from the new KTM 390 Duke. As a result, the side panel design and the rear end has also gotten a refresh. Powering the scrambler is a 398.63cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 46PS at 9,000rpm and 39Nm at 7,000rpm.

The suspension setup consists of an adjustable 43mm WP APex inverted fork and a WP Apex monoshock with preload adjustability. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm front disc brake with sintered pads and a 240mm rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS. Other technical details include a seat height of 820mm, ground clearance of 177mm, kerb weight of 171.2kg and a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres. The tyre setup consists of 110-section front and 150-section rear block pattern Pirelli Scorpion tyres with 17-inch spoke wheels at both ends.

Features-wise, the Svartpilen 401 gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console, with Bluetooth connectivity available as an option. The scrambler comes loaded with rider aids as well like traction control, ride-by-wire, quickshifter and Supermoto ABS. Its rivals are the Yezdi Scrambler, Royal Enfield Scram 411 and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X

Husqvarna Vitpilen 250

Based on the new KTM 250 Duke, the Vitpilen 250 shares the same trellis frame, subframe and swingarm. But its round LED headlight design along with the unique fuel tank design, side panels and rear end mean that the Vitpilen 250 does stand out on its own. It is powered by a 249.07cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 31PS at 9,500rpm and 25Nm at 7,500rpm.

It gets a 43mm WP Apex inverted fork, like the Svartpilen 401, but with no adjustability, and a WP Apex monoshock with preload adjustability. Braking setup is the same as the Svartpilen 401’s 320mm front disc with sintered pads and 240mm rear disc brake setup with dual-channel ABS. Seat height, ground clearance and fuel tank capacity are also same but the Vitpilen 250 is lighter by 7.4kg, with a kerb weight of 163.8kg.

The bike gets a 5-inch LCD instrument console with no Bluetooth connectivity but gets the same rider aids as the Svartpilen 401 such as traction control, ride-by-wire, quickshifter and Supermoto ABS. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 rivals the likes of the KTM 250 Duke, Dominar 250 and the Suzuki Gixxer 250.
