Honda’s Activa range alone sold 54,871 more units than the other four combined
Scooters are a favourite among Indian consumers as they offer convenience and versatility while being affordable to run and maintain. Hence, it's not a surprise that most two-wheeler manufacturers compete to capture a share of this segment, giving consumers a wide range of options to choose from.
However, the monthly sales chart has been dominated by certain scooters that are eternal favourites. Here, we look at the top five scooters that sold the most in September 2022:

It’s no surprise that the Honda Activa range, consisting of the 110 and 125, continue to remain at the top, despite being slightly under-equipped when compared to its main rival, the TVS Jupiter, which stands second in the list. The Activa's sheer popularity has made it a household name, and that has translated into its sales too.
What is surprising though, is the sheer volume of the number of Activas sold in September, which is way more than the other four combined. It even outsells its arch-rival more than three units to one. This is despite other scooters in this segment seeing good growth in month-on-month sales, presumably due to the festive season.

The family-oriented Suzuki Access 125 and the feature-loaded and sporty TVS NTorq 125 take the third and fourth place respectively, while showing substantial increase in MoM sales. The Honda Dio grabs the fifth spot on the chart, losing a place when compared to last month, despite getting a swanky ‘sports’ variant in August.
